For the first time, New York's Bravest are putting a new face forward in their 2015 Calendar of Heroes.
Danae Mines, an 11-year veteran, is the first female firefighter to be selected for the calendar.
She was named Miss March.
Mines joined the rest of the 13 active duty firefighters who are featured in the calendar to sign copies in Times Square Tuesday.
She talked about meeting early resistance to having a woman in the calendar, and why she was determined to overcome it.
"A few reasons - to help raise money for the FDNY foundation, to represent the women on the job and I wanted to inspire other women to come on the job," Mines said.
All sales go toward the FDNY foundation, a nonprofit providing fire safety education, as well as training and development of firefighters.
