The city will pay $2.25 million to the family of an unarmed Brooklyn man killed by an undercover narcotics detective five years ago.

Shem Walker, 48, was shot to death in July 2009.

It happened while the detective was watching a buy and bust operation near the Brooklyn building where Walker's mother lived.

Walker tried to force the officer to leave, apparently not realizing he was a police officer.

The two men got into an altercation and the detective fired three shots, killing Walker.
