NYPD Commissioner William Bratton accepted a $50,000 grant for science programming in the Police Athletic League.

The money came from Bayer, a chemical and health care company currently sponsoring a "Science for a Better Life" exhibit in Grand Central Station.

Bratton spoke to PAL summer campers about the importance of learning science.

The Police Athletic League is a non-profit youth development program.

The kids also explored interactive science exhibits and heard from Mae Jemison, an astronaut and the country's first black woman to orbit earth. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
