Police have caught the man they say carjacked a driver at gunpoint on Staten Island over the weekend.

Tyrell Brown, 25, was taken into custody shortly before 2 a.m. Wednesday.

It's unclear where he was found.

Police say Brown pulled a gun on a 29-year-old man in Mariners Harbor Sunday morning, made him lay on the ground and then drove off in the victim's Hummer.

Bridge and Tunnel officers spotted him the next morning driving the stolen car near the Verrazano Bridge toll plaza.

Investigators say police approached the vehicle and that's when the passenger -- 24-year-old Chineida Lopez -- got out of the car and tried to run away, but was arrested.

Brown drove off, and that's when police say the officers opened fire on the car.

No one was hurt.

Authorities say Brown abandoned the car less than a mile away.
