Brooklyn will be getting a visit from Democratic party officials as they look for a place to hold their national convention in 2016.

Members of the Democratic National Committee's Technical Advisory Committee will tour the borough on August 11th and 12th.

While in town, they will check out Barclays Center, which would hold the convention if Brooklyn is picked.

The committee is also planning visits to the five other cities still in contention: Philadelphia; Phoenix; Cleveland; Columbus, Ohio, and Birmingham, Alabama.

The winning city will be announced by the end of this year or early next year.
