Thursday night's thunderstorm and flash flood warnings were not the ideal way to start off the holiday weekend.

For the second night in a row, the braced for thunderstorms and flooding.

Flooding was not as bad in some areas Thursday as it was the previous night, though there were some travel delays as a result of the storm.

Earlier in the evening, 1, 2 and 3 subway trains were suspended from 42nd Street through 96th Street as a result of flooding in the 79th Street station.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority said service is back on track as of 11 p.m. Thursday, although there may be some leftover delays.

Travelers trying to get out of town suffered through delays at local airports. For a while, planes were not taking off or landing at JFK.

Kennedy and LaGuardia had both both recovered as of 11 p.m. Thursday. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
