CitiBike riders reportedly could soon be shelling out a lot more for an annual membership as a way to save the struggling program.

According to the Daily News, the city is considering a 50 percent hike in the annual member fee, potentially raising it as high as $155.

The current fee is $95.

The $9.95 cost of a day pass would probably remain the same.

The CitiBike program has had its share of money problems since it launched last year.

The News says an investment firm is in talks with the city to buy a majority stake in the program.

But the firm also wants more say over where the bike stations are placed, something that's currently left to the city to decide.
