One hundred and fifty immigrants were sworn in as U.S. citizens Wednesday at a ceremony in Manhattan.

The new citizens come from 47 different countries, including 49 from the Dominican Republic, 11 from China and 10 from Jamaica.

NY1 talked to some about how it felt.

"Excited. Been waiting a couple of years, and feeling very excited," said one.

"I moved here when I was four, so I've always felt like I've been American, so this is kind of more confirmation more than anything," said another.

"There's no words to express. I'm just happy and overwhelmed and I'm just looking forward for the future," said a third.

Sixty more new citizens will also be welcomed at ceremonies across the state on the Fourth of July. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
