Family members of a woman allegedly raped at a health care center in the Bronx want the District Attorney to speed up prosecution in the case.
Nanic Aidasani, 42, was a practicing nurse at the Manhattanville Health Care Center in Kingsbridge.
Back in February, he was charged with raping a 64-year-old patient there who suffers from dementia and cannot speak.
Family members and supporters of the victim gathered outside Bronx Supreme Court Monday, where Aidasani made a court appearance.
After six months with no developments, they said they want the DA's office to move the process along more quickly.
"That's ridiculous. That is a way of practically laughing in our faces, because I don't think that any report would last that long," said state Senator Ruben Diaz Sr. of the Bronx.
Aidasani's next court date is scheduled for August 8.
The DA said they need more time to analyze forensic evidence.
