Part of a Manhattan street will be renamed after legendary radio newsman Stan Brooks.

The City Council on Thursday approved a bill to rename 43rd Street and Tenth Avenue Stan Brooks Lane in honor of the longtime 1010 WINS reporter.

The street corner is near the apartment where Brooks lived.

Brooks worked at WINS for more than 50 years, and became one of the city's most recognizable radio voices.

He died of cancer in December at age 86.
