A new art installation lit up in Harlem Wednesday.
The "H" is a light sculpture that will hang at the corner of 125th Street and 12th Avenue.
The artwork shines so brightly, it can be seen from New Jersey.
The artist, Bentley Meeker, is a Harlem resident who said he's happy to be giving back to the community.
A large crowd gathered Wednesday to see the "H" lit up for the first time.
"I think it's a great invitation to the community and it shows a new spirit in Harlem, and I think it will become a beacon," said one person who saw the H light up for the first time.
"I think it's wonderful. I'm so thrilled," said another. "I live up here. We come down to the restaurants, and it's just a feeling that maybe this neighborhood is going to get more recognized."
"This H is going to light this area up every evening, and it's going to draw new people to the area, residents, visitors," said a third. "It's going to make our New Jersey neighbors curious as to what that is over there."
The H will be on display until September 25.
