One man is in the hospital and another under arrest after a stabbing in Manhattan.
Police say the suspect stabbed the victim in the chest Monday morning in front of 590 Broadway with a pair of scissors following an argument.
A friend of the victim said the man is a street vendor and the attacker is a homeless person with mental issues.
Authorities say the victim was rushed to Bellevue Hospital.
"Walking up here, and I looked at him sitting in the chair. He had all the blood on him," said Bernard Thompson, a friend of the victim. "I said, 'Barry what happened? He said, 'The guy stabbed me.' I said, 'Oh. What'd he stab you with?' 'Scissors.' But they found the scissors and stuff and everything. So he must have used the scissors that was here."
The victim is expected to survive.
There is no word on any charges against the suspect.
