Mayor Bill de Blasio took his fight against inequality to the national stage at the U.S. Conference of Mayors' annual meeting in Texas Sunday.

De Blasio delivered a speech calling for a nationwide "urban agenda" that addresses poverty, internet access, and other issues affecting people living in cities.

It was also announced that the mayor will serve as chairman of a new task force called "Cities of Opportunity" that will focus on helping the poor and middle class.

The task force will meet for the first time in August in the city. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
