Fans of Colombia in the city were thrilled after the country's soccer team took a big step towards the next round of the World Cup Thursday.

Colombia beat Ivory Coast 2-1 to improve their record to 2-0 and virtually assure themselves a spot in the second round.

Ivory Coast dropped to 1-1 and is still alive.

The result had Colombia's fans in the city dancing in the streets.

"The game was amazing," said one fan. "I love Colombia and I'm glad we won. I want to take it all the way to the World Cup."

"It was exciting. I was nervous throughout the whole time," said another fan. "Happy that my country won, but from now on, it just gets better."

Also Thursday, Uruguay got a goal in the 85th minute to beat England 2-1.

England dropped to 0-2 and needs to win its last game and get a lot of help in order to advance.

Uruguay is now 1-1 in the tournament, and that has their fans feeling pretty good.

"Oh my God, guys, this is incredible!" said one fan. "We got, like, England lost. England. All right? So we have Spain out, England is out. I don't believe it. This World Cup is getting very exciting."

In the final game of the day, Japan and Greece played to a scoreless draw, leaving both teams with a loss and a tie.
