A 60-year-old woman was seriously injured Tuesday after being hit by a car in Chinatown that then went into the front window of a nearby store.

The incident happened shortly before 3:30 p.m. Tuesday on Allen Street between Grand Street and Broome Street.

A witness told NY1 that the person who was seriously injured was a woman in her 60s who was carrying her grandchild, who was about 3 years old.

According to the witness, the car, a white Lexus, hit the woman and her grandchild while they were walking on the sidewalk and then crashed into a supply store.

The child suffered minor injuries.

Workers inside the store said they were in the back of the store and heard the crash.

They said no one inside the store was hurt.

The driver remained on the scene but was allowed to drive off after police filed their report.
