Straphangers in one part of Brooklyn are welcoming the return of a subway station that has been closed for months because of renovations.

The southbound side of the Courtelyou Road station on the Q line in Flatbush reopened Friday morning, one week ahead of schedule.

It had been closed since February so $3 million worth of repairs could be made.

Riders who spoke with NY1 say they are glad the station is open again.

"Oh yes I get to work late sometimes because I gotta go that way, come back this way," said one rider.

"I'm very happy about the whole thing. I can go straight to the store as soon as I leave and go straight upstairs," said another rider. "Less of an inconvenience but it's not that bad. We've been through worse."

Renovations at Cortelyou Road included repairs to the stairs, roof and concrete, as well as new paint. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
