Congress is reviewing trucker safety rules days after a tractor trailer accident that claimed one life, and left comedian Tracy Morgan in critical condition.

There's a new controversial proposal that would allow truck drivers put in as many as 82 hours a week behind the wheel.

It comes as a truck driver is facing charges for an accident authorities blame on a lack of sleep.

Morgan's van was struck on the New Jersey turnpike Saturday morning.

Officials say the truck driver had been driving for more than 24 hours.

One of Morgan's friends was killed, and Morgan suffered multiple broken bones.

His spokesperson says his recovery will be long and arduous.
