Police are asking for the public's help finding a man who they say tried to sexually assault a woman in Queens this week.

The suspect, who police identify as Elvis McKenzie, followed the victim into the elevator of her apartment building in Astoria Monday morning.

They say he punched and choked the woman, then tried to sexually assault her before fleeing.

Investigators say the victim picked McKenzie out of a photo lineup.

He's described as being 27 years old, 6'4" inches tall and weighs 200 pounds.

Anyone with information on the case should contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS, or text CRIMES and then enter TIP577, or visit www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.
