A worker was killed and another injured Thursday following a construction accident in Queens.

Police say the victim fell down an elevator shaft just after 8 a.m. while working at 45-45 42nd Street in Sunnyside.

Officers say he fell from the fifth floor opening of the six-story building, and was pronounced dead while being rushed to Elmhurst Hospital.

Police say another worker who was on the fourth floor was also injured by falling debris.

He is listed in stable condition.
