Runners are hitting the pavement today for National Running Day.
The annual event is now in its sixth year.
Organizations across the country are encouraging runners to plan runs, motivate their friends to get active, and rack up miles to support charities.
New York Road Runners is celebrating the day with group runs, activities, and giveaways throughout the five boroughs.
The organization is also setting up water stations in Prospect Park, Brooklyn Bridge Park and Clove Lakes Park.
