The battle of East Versus West for the Stanley Cup begins tonight.

The Rangers face off against the Kings in Los Angeles for Game One of the Stanley Cup Final at 8 p.m. ET.

The last time the Rangers played in a Stanley Cup Final was 20 years ago, when they won the cup, breaking a 54-year championship drought.

"It's been a dream ever since I came to New York to try to win and bring the Cup to New York and we definitely have the team to do it. Now it comes down to, you know, we need everyone to play their absolute best. And that's gonna give us a good chance of winning."

Los Angeles won its only Stanley Cup in 2012.

The series remains on the West coast through game 2 and then heads to Madison Square Garden for games 3 and 4.

Stay tuned to NY1 for extensive coverage of the finals and the excitement surrounding them.

NY1's Kevin Garrity is on the West Coast, following the Rangers, and will be filing multiple reports during the series.
