NY1 VIDEO: A year-and-a-half after Hurricane Sandy, Veronica Petersen is still rebuilding her home. But Petersen and many of her neighbors were relieved Tuesday after the federal government approved a $60 million project that would help protect them from future storms. Officials say construction is expected to being in three to five years, something many like Peteren say is worth the wait. NY1’s Aaron Dickens filed a report.
