Police are investigating a shooting that left a 16-year-old boy dead in Brooklyn Monday night.
The victim has been identified as Laquan Nelson.
He was was walking through Lafayette Gardens Houses when he was shot.
Police say they found him outside the 88th Precinct station house with a gunshot wound to the torso.
He was taken to Brooklyn hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The teen’s grandma told NY1 he went by the nickname “Popcorn” and described him as a good kid who tried his best at school and loved playing basketball.
Police say they don't have a motive for the shooting.
No arrests have been made.
