The Rangers will be without one of their players for the rest of their series against the Canadiens.

Defenseman John Moore was suspended two games by the NHL for a hit in the third period of Tuesday night's Game 5 in Montreal.

Moore received a five-minute penalty for the late hit on Montreal forward Dale Weise.

In Game 3 last week, Montreal's Brandon Prust delivered a similar blow to Derek Stepan. He was also suspended two games, meaning he's eligible to return to the ice Thursday night.

Stepan missed one game with a broken jaw, but returned and scored two goals in Game 5.

The Canadiens won Game 5 by a 7-4 score.

The Blueshirts still lead the series 3 games to 2 and will have another chance to close it out tomorrow at the Garden.

If they lose, they will face a do-or-die Game 7 back in Montreal Saturday night. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
