The Brooklyn Navy Yard is now a national landmark.

The 300 acre complex was formally added to the National Register of Historic Places on Thursday.

The Navy Yard is the city’s oldest and largest shipyard, and one of the first six developed in the country.

High tech military vessels were once built there, but in recent years it's become the home of medical labs along with the Steiner Studios production facility.
