An NYPD officer arrested in India for carrying bullets in his luggage has appeared in court.
A judge briefly heard arguments from both sides and postponed the case against Officer Manny Encarnacion until July 1.
His lawyer asked the judge for an early hearing, saying the cop's job will be negatively affected if he's forced to stay in India for so long.
Now, a ruling is expected in the next few days.
Encarnacion was arrested in New Delhi on March 11th after customs officials there found ammunition in his luggage.
He says he forgot to take the bullets out of his coat pocket before packing.
If the case is thrown out, Encarnacion's lawyer says his passport will be returned and he'll be able to return home.
