Police say a one-year-old boy who was hospitalized in critical condition Wednesday after falling from a window in Brooklyn has died.

Theodore Nemon fell from the sixth floor of a building located at 580 Crown Street in Wingate around 11:30 a.m. and landed on a third floor balcony.

The boy was taken to Kings County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Sources say the boy's mother was at home during the incident, and it appears the fall was accidental.

A woman who lives nearby told NY1 she overheard the frantic search to find the child.

"I heard a mom like yelling really loud and then the EMT was trying to climb up and get to her and people were trying to help her out and then I found out that a child fell out the window," said the woman.

Police say an investigation is ongoing. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
