The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is looking to ease the Memorial Day weekend commute by adding more trains on Friday.

The Long Island Rail Road will run eight additional trains out of Penn Station in the early afternoon.

Those will run along the Babylon, Port Jefferson, Port Washington and Far Rockaway branches.

Eighteen extra Metro-North trains will run out of Grand Central along the Hudson, Harlem and New Haven Lines.

The Staten Island Railway is also adding extra trains starting at 2:30 p.m. from the St. George Ferry Terminal.

The MTA is also reminding straphangers that the subway will run on a Sunday schedule on Memorial Day.
