A budget standoff in Washington kept the Navy from holding Fleet Week last year, but its ships will be coming in again this time around.
Fleet Week events get underway today with the Navy conducting helicopter flyovers throughout the city this afternoon from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The famous parade of ships up the Hudson River is set for Wednesday.
Ships will dock in Manhattan and on Staten Island and will be open to the public from Thursday through Memorial Day.
