A longtime state assemblywoman from Brooklyn has announced that she won't seek re-election this year.
Democrat Rhoda Jacobs has represented Flatbush, Ditmas Park and Midwood for the past 36 years.
In a statement released Sunday, Jacobs said she's proud of the work she's done in the areas of health care, education and affordable housing.
She didn't give a reason for deciding not to run again.
Jacobs was challenged in 2012 by Democrat Rodneyse Bichotte, who is running again this year.
