The man accused of beating a grandfather to death in the East Village Friday night was arraigned in a Manhattan court Wednesday.
Jamie Pugh, 20, is charged with second degree murder and first degree robbery and assault.
He was arrested Tuesday.
The attack was caught on surveillance video.
Investigators say Pugh followed 68-year-old Wen-hui Ruan, confronted him and threw him against a wall.
He then punched and kicked the victim in the head before leaving the scene.
Ruan was taken to Bellevue Hospital where he died the next day.
