A new ferry line is trying to make it easier to commute on the west side of Manhattan.

New York Water Taxi says they will run a ferry from midtown to lower Manhattan.

Service starts Monday and is free for the first week.

After that it will cost $8 to go round trip.

The new route stretches from Pier 84 near West 44th Street to the World Financial Center.

The company says the ferries will run regularly during morning and evening rush hours.
