The Standard Hotel says it's investigating the leak of a security video that appears to show Beyonce's sister attacking Jay-Z.

TMZ posted the footage of the incident showing someone believed to be Solange Knowles hitting and kicking the rapper inside an elevator at the hotel, while a bodyguard tries to subdue her.

Beyonce also appears to be in the elevator, but does not get involved in the scuffle.

TMZ says the video was shot last week after the Met Gala party.

People who spoke with NY1 say privacy is a thing of the past.

"We live in a world where privacy is not what it used to be, with cell phones and access to security tapes I don't think anybody should consider themselves private anymore," said one New Yorker.

"Beyonce should have stepped in and put her in her place, but I guess they handled it pretty good," said another New Yorker.

The hotel issued a statement saying it is, "shocked and disappointed that there was a clear breach of our security system."

It says the people involved in turning the video over to TMZ will be disciplined and prosecuted.
