Police have arrested a man in in connection with the beating death of a Manhattan grandfather.

Jamie Pugh, 20, is charged with murder, robbery and assault.

The attack, which was caught on surveillance video, happened Friday night in the East Village.

The victim, 68-year-old Wen-hui Ruan, died on Saturday.

Loved ones have set up a memorial with flowers and candles at the site where Ruan was beaten.

His daughters were overcome with grief Monday as they spoke about their father's life. They said Ruan was devoted to his three children and five grandchildren.

He retired four years ago and spent his days exercising, playing chess and picking up his grandchildren from school.

Relatives said his murder has rocked their entire family and the community.

"This stupid guy killed my dad. Also, at the same time, he killed all of my family's hearts. All of my family never sleep in these few days. We can't eat. We can't sleep," said Ruan's daughter.

"We are very heartbroken, and we are very angry at this man. He should come forward and responsible for what he did," said another family member.
