If your spring cleaning turns up any dangerous household materials, you can let the city take care of them.
The Department of Sanitation hosted one of its SAFE Disposal events in Union Square Sunday.
People were able to drop off anything from cellphones and batteries to paints and pesticides.
"We get thousands of people coming in by car, by foot, by bike with all sorts of materials that they're clearing out of their basements, their storage rooms, their closets," said David Hirschler of the Department of Sanitation's
