It's full speed ahead for Metro North trains traveling through the Bronx along the New Haven and Harlem lines.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority says it just finished up a track reconstruction program that began in July 2013.

All four tracks on a six-mile stretch from Melrose to Woodlawn will now allow for speeds up to 75 miles per hour, resulting in improved performance and reliability.

Previously, the reconstruction trains were only able to hit a top speed of 60 miles per hour.

Completion of the project also means the return of full service to the to Melrose and Tremont stations.
