A Brooklyn child escaped with minor injuries Thursday after getting caught in a roll up gate.

It happened just after 6 p.m. in Williamsburg.

Community leaders tell NY1 the boy was trying to jump on the gate at 50 Skillman Street while someone was closing it with a remote control.

Firefighters had to perform a technical rescue.

The child was removed with a possible arm injury.

The gate leads to a parking area at the rear of residential buildings.

Two years and two days ago, 12-year-old Yakim McDaniels was crushed to death playing in a roll up gate also in Brooklyn.

This child is expected to be okay. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
