A little-known upstate Republican official is making a bid to take on State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli in November.

Onondaga County Comptroller Robert Antonacci formally announced his bid Wednesday for the Republican nomination for state comptroller.

Antonacci is also embracing a controversial pilot campaign finance program that was approved only for the comptroller's race.

DiNapoli rejected the plan, saying it's not fully thought out and would cause him to return donations he already accepted. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
