A public memorial service will be held later this month in Harlem for Basil Paterson.

The political heavyweight died last month at the age of 87.

His son, former Governor David Paterson, says the service will take place May 29 at Riverside Church.

Basil Paterson is the second of the so-called "Gang of Four" to pass away.

Paterson served as a state senator and a deputy mayor, and was New York's first black secretary of state.
