A 68-year-old man is in critical condition following a hit-and-run crash in Brooklyn.

Police say the man was crossing the street at Ocean Parkway and Avenue O just before noon when he was hit.

Officials say the driver fled the scene.

"When I got to the scene, the patient was already very bad. He was unconscious, bleeding from his head and foot," said Sheya Landa, an EMT at the scene. "We were doing CPR and intubating him."

Police say the car involved was a black Ford sedan with a license plate that included the numbers 1370.

They're continuing to investigate.
