The man found guilty of stabbing a Manhattan psychologist to death with a meat cleaver was sentenced to life in prison Friday.

David Tarloff was convicted of murder, attempted murder and assault in March.

He admitted to killing Kathryn Faughey in 2008 when he showed up to her office looking to rob her co-worker but encountered her first.

His attorney argued that Tarloff is schizophrenic and could not be held criminally responsible, but prosecutors said despite his psychiatric history, Tarloff knew what he was doing was wrong.
