A Brooklyn car dealership has agreed to pay nearly $100,000 in restitution and penalties for deceiving customers.
Attorney General Eric Schneiderman said Bay Ridge Nissan will pay nearly $50,000 to 15 customers and another $50,000 as a civil penalty.
Schneiderman said his office received dozens of consumer complaints.
He said the dealership used deceptive tactics, including publishing misleading advertisements on Craigslist and using false advertising to target people who lost their car during Hurricane Sandy.
The attorney general also urged consumers to do research before buying from a dealership.
