A specialty music and video store is preparing to close its doors in the East Village.
Kim's Music and Video focuses on experimental and foreign music and films.
Employees said the store is set to close July 15.
Patrons said it's disappointing to see it shut down.
"It's just really sad that it's closing down because where else are you going to go to get this sort of thing?" said one patron. "I guess you could go on the Internet, but it's really, nothing really compares to just coming to a place like this."
"You get to talk to people. You get to talk to people that are very knowledgeable, that love the craft of filmmaking or music, or both," said another.
"So sad to see it go, because you're going to have to hunt even more to find a place like this," said a third.
Employees said the store's owner is considering finding a new location, but their current rent is too high.
For now, all videos and music in the store are 30 percent off.
