Food vendors are back on the High Line, another promising sign that spring is arriving.
"Friends of the High Line," which runs the elevated park on the West Side, said it tries to pick vendors that use local ingredients and represent the best New York has to offer.
Some of the business owners have been operating on the High Line for years, but they're just as excited as the tourists to start the spring season.
"It's great being out here with all these other vendors out here," said one vendor. "There's a lot of camaraderie out here. I mean, you can't beat working outside on a park."
"The High Line attracts the most tourists of anywhere in New York City. I think it's something 15 million visitors a year," said another. "The scenery is great. Everybody is in a fun mood."
"This is my fourth year up here, and every year, it's just always something different," said a third. "Just like being out here amongst the people and getting my product out there."
Most vendors will remain open until late October.
