Dozens of suspected gang members were arraigned Thursday, a day after a major raid by the New York City Police Department.
Prosecutors read out charges against 34 alleged gang members throughout the day.
There were 80 charges in all, ranging from conspiracy to attempted murder.
Police say several of the people arrested were connected to a series of shootings in and around the Forest Houses in Morrisania.
The District Attorney's office said its investigation began with the accidental shooting death of a 4-year-old on a playground in 2012.
Investigators then collected evidence of the suspected gang members talking about shootings on Facebook.
Police Commissioner William Bratton joined the Violent Felony Squad for the takedown on Wednesday.
