Two hundred and fifteen new educators have been accepted into the state's Master Teacher program, 13 of them in New York City.
Master Teachers is a professional development program which aims to connect the state's best teachers in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math.
The teachers will receive extra money, be involved in peer mentoring and attend regular meetings.
The program is carried out through the State University of New York system.
This batch of teachers will join the 104 people accepted when the program started in October.
