One man is dead and another is in police custody after a fiery car crash in Brooklyn early Tuesday morning.

Police say 60-year-old Nikon Vouyioukilis was trying to turn off Remsen Avenue in Canarsie when his Toyota was hit by an Inifiniti driven by a 25-year-old man shortly before 5 a.m.

Police say he then crashed into three parked cars, while the other driver hit a telephone pole.

Vouyiouklis later died from his injuries at Brookdale Hospital.

A witness described the scene.

"They ran head on, head on, and then that car there exploded," the witness said. "It caught on fire. It was burning. The flame was up sky high."

The other driver was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

He's expected to be charged with DWI and unlicensed operation. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
