April is National Autism Awareness Month, and a local actress has released a video featuring children with the disorder.
Cassandra Kubinsky enlisted the help of autistic children to make a music video called "Not So Different."
Its release coincides with news that autism rates are soaring.
The Centers for Disease Control finds that one in 68 American children have the condition.
"I didn't realize that those numbers were going to be released when they were, but yeah, so now more than ever, we're excited about the mission and what the song can do to help," Kubinsky said.
"The song grabs you so much, and it really, it expresses that we're all the same and that through love and patience and understanding, it just brings us all together a little more," said Daniel Neiden, the video's executive producer.
The song can be downloaded on iTunes. Proceeds go to various autism awareness organizations.
