Hundreds of Little Leaguers and their parents marked the start of baseball season with some spring cleaning.
Volunteers cleaned, raked and painted benches in 14 parks throughout Queens.
It's all part of the Parks Department's ninth annual "Pitch in for Parks" event.
The aim is to get the ballfields game-ready and build a sense of community.
"Over 850 Little Leaguers are working with us today, not just getting the fields ready for one da,y but learning about park stewardship and taking care of their neighborhood parks," said Dorothy Lewandowski, Queens Parks commissioner.
"It's a good thing like to clean on the leaves and stuff and we help each other out and stuff so it's really nice," said volunteer Jonathan Pellicci.
Organizers are also encouraging people to organize cleanup projects in their local parks.
