City health officials shut down the home of the croissant donut hybrid known as the "Cronut" because of a "severe mouse infestation."

They say Dominique Ansel's SoHo bakery requires professional pest control and can reopen once it passes another inspection.

But that was no comfort to these tourists.

"In the past few days we've been trying to come, but we would come after they were closed. So today was our day to come," said one tourist.

"Yeah today was our friggin' day," said her friend.

"We were so excited and such a bummer so I'll have to come back to New York and try it again," said the tourist.

A spokesperson for the bakery says a customer posted video online of a mouse in the store instead of telling staff.

They're hoping to be ready for business on Monday.
